About HARP

HARP - Health, Arts, Research, People explored how we can generate, grow and learn about creative innovations that support people’s health and wellbeing. It was an innovation and research partnership between Arts Council of Wales, Nesta and Cardiff University’s ‘Y Lab’.

Arts Council of Wales

The official body that funds and develops the arts in Wales. As HARP’s major funder and strategic partner, ACW advises on all aspects of programme design and delivery.

Nesta

Nesta is the UK’s innovation agency for social good. As HARP’s co-funder and lead innovation partner, Nesta Cymru leads on programme design and delivery, working alongside all partners to fund and support arts and health innovations, convene the partnership and generate learning.

Nesta’s People Powered Results

Expert innovation HARP partner, focusing on partnering with individuals, organisations and systems at a national and local level, to release the power of people closest to issues to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing the public sector.

Wales Arts, Health and Wellbeing Network

As the membership organisation for arts and health professionals across Wales, WAHWN adds value to the HARP innovators’ work by bringing them together as a network, so that they can share knowledge, learning and ideas that will build confidence and capacity across the sector.

Welsh NHS Confederation

The only national membership body representing all NHS Wales organisations. As part of the Confederation’s memorandum of understanding with Arts Council of Wales, Welsh NHS Confederation advises on NHS engagement, priorities and contacts to ensure HARP is relevant and impactful.

Y Lab (Cardiff University)

The public services innovation lab for Wales. As HARP’s research partner, Y Lab explores what it takes to make impactful and sustainable arts and health innovations succeed. They also support HARP teams to design and conduct robust evaluations.
